Presentation
My name is Manuela Chiancianesi, I have a degree in Molecular Biotechnology and I am registered with the order of biologists. I was born and raised in Valdichiana, with tomato bread and running through the fields behind my house. After working for a while as a researcher at the University of Florence, I landed in nutrition during a work experience with a company that also dealt with phytotherapy.
I was leaving the laboratory for the first time, which until then had been my natural habitat, and I was interacting with people, their problems, their daily lives.
Step by step, I became aware, thanks to the positive results and the improved well-being that my clients achieved through a radical change in their eating habits, that I could be of real help to these people, in a much more immediate and tangible way than I did with research.
So, after a bad accident that caused me to lose that job and months of immobilization followed by an even more painful rehabilitation, I developed the idea and desire to become a nutritionist biologist on my own.
During my recovery, I studied and took courses to deepen my knowledge of nutritional issues related not only to overweight but also to pathological conditions that especially affect us women.
I constantly attend refresher courses in nutrition at the Italian Association of Nutritionist Biologists (ABNI) and the Salerno School of Nutrition.
